Sugarcane Tube Reduces CO2 Emissions

Tubes made from sugarcane are still viewed negatively because the plants grow on agricultural land in Brazil. But in reality, at 0.02%, only a small portion of agricultural land is used for the production of bioplastics in Brazil. By comparison, cattle farming alone accounts for an area of 172 million hectares in Brazil, which is more than 19 times the area used for sugarcane.

In contrast to cattle farming, growing sugarcane helps to absorb carbon dioxide. The plant is mainly grown in the southwest of the country, where there is no rainforest.

The sugarcane tubes or bioplastic tubes are a highly environmentally friendly type of packaging and therefore particularly suitable for your natural and cosmetic products; the carbon footprint of a sugarcane tube is 50% better than that of a conventional PE tube.

If the tube is empty, the consumer recycles the tube in the same way as conventional PE tubes. Neopac's sugarcane tube is an environmentally friendly alternative to the standard PE tube and offers the same qualitative barrier, decorative or recyclable properties.
