“Is there any tan I can use if I have Psoriasis, Eczema or Rocacea,”
Most girls who have sensitive skin do not want to give up tan and end up lathering it on fully accepting that approximately an hour later, their skin would become red, itchy and irritated.
All skin types and allergies are different, for some people you could be sensitive to SLS, perfume (which is the number one allergen in skin care), alcohol, or in other cases synthetic colourings like C+D red dyes- the guide colouring present in nearly all fake tans except TanOrganic as we use food colourings). Our feedback from our customers who have skin conditions such as Psoriasis, Eczema, Rosacea, is that they love TanOrganic because it has no SLS, it has much gentler ingredients, more moisture and it is kinder to the skin with less chance of a reaction.
“I have had eczema on my legs and arms all my life and have acne prone skin and so I struggled with finding a tan that suits my skin type. I have tried so many brands of tan, but any I tried usually just made my skin break out or flare up. I got Tan Organic as a gift when I was 18 and tried it and it didn’t affect my eczema or cause any kind of harsh break out at all. It’s light on my skin and so it doesn’t get trapped in my pores and can be easily removed when I want to take it off. I’m now 20 and I use tan organic at least twice a week”. Orlaith, 20 years old, Dublin.
The main ingredients in Tan Organic, just to give you an idea of how utterly natural and organic the product is:
Aloe Vera, Caramel, Orange Peel, Achiote Seed, Ginger, Thyme, Coconut, Corn, Beetroot, Sugar Cane, Lilac, Raspberry, Gingseng, Chamomile and Honey.
For sensitive skin, the crucial question is when the best time is to apply your tan. This all depends on the severity of your skin condition. If your skin is broken or inflamed because of a psoriasis or eczema flare up, it is advisable to avoid tan products for at least 2 weeks to allow your skin to heal and settle before application of any lotion or spray tan.
Before applying tan to your full body, make sure to carry out a patch test 24 hours before tanning to confirm TanOrganic has no allergic reaction (nothing is 100% hypo allergenic people can be allergic to anything) It will also allow you to gage how dark the tan develops and how many layers you will need.
Moisturising is key! Take care of your sensitive skin by moisturising daily with a naturally fragranced and organic moisturiser as well as prior, during and after fake tanning. This is extremely beneficial for psoriasis and eczema to smooth and hydrate the skin and prevent the tan from clinging to drier areas. Moisturisers that contain Aloe Vera have shown to have beneficial effects on the skin and is one of the most sought-after remedies in skin care and cosmetics. It hydrates cracked, dry skin and helps to restore softness. All TanOrganic products are oil and Aloe Vera based, so not only can you get a beautiful natural glow year-round, you also stay wonderfully hydrated with our multi-use dry moisturising oil!
